Project by Project SF Fights Homelessness At 10th Annual Tasting Benefit, Plate by Plate

SAN FRANCISCO - July 22, 2019 -Project by Project San Francisco (PbP SF) invites foodies, charitable givers, and working professionals to take a "bite" at homelessness for the 10-year anniversary of our signature tasting benefit, Plate by Plate.

The event is the oldest and largest Asian American-run tasting benefit in the nation, and the only one of its grandeur that is organized entirely by volunteers. Each year, nearly 40 top-rated restaurants, renowned mixologists and beverage purveyors from across the Bay Area come together to donate their talents on behalf of local nonprofits. More than 500 guests eat and drink to their hearts' content, participate in our silent auction, take in the music, and enjoy a great evening while contributing to a great cause.

Details

This year's Plate by Plate SF will be held on September 7th, 2019 from 7pm - 10pm, at the stunning San Francisco Design Center Galleria. The open 12,000 sq. ft. atrium and multiple levels will allow dozens of celebrated food and beverage vendors to be on full display for the evening. Participating vendors include Salt House, Endless West, Hashiri, Chef Tu David Phu, 25 Lusk, Akiko's, Seven Stills, Pacific Cocktail Haven, Asahi Beer, and dozens more.

Who It Benefits

From 2016 to 2017, Asian Americans experienced the highest growth in homelessness among all racial groups (44%). 2.7% of homeless people identify as Asian (1.2%) or Pacific Islander (1.5%).

We're proud to combat homelessness in the Asian Pacific Islander community with this year's beneficiary of Plate by Plate SF, Gum Moon Women's Residence & Asian Women's Resource Center. Founded in 1868, Gum Moon provides a safe sanctuary for women, empowering immigrant families by fostering community, stability and self-reliance via transitional housing, after-school and summer school programs, parenting classes and more.

The PbP SF team is excited to work with Gum Moon to help continuing to provide housing and holistic services to more APIA women. For additional information on Gum Moon, click here.
