With therapeutic oligonucleotide analogs representing a new and promising family of drugs that act on nucleic acid targets, SMi’s 7th annual event on RNA, will look to explore the latest developments in carrier technology and new avenues in gene-based therapies with two exclusive keynote addresses on emerging oligonucleotide therapeutics.
The first keynote from Sarepta Therapeutics distinguished scientist, Ryszard Kole, will discuss furthering the role of delivery systems in RNA therapeutics by reviewing pre-clinical and clinical experience with oligonucleotide drugs. Day two’s opening keynote address will be delivered by Prof. Nagy Habib from Imperial College. Entitled: RNA Activation with Small Activating RNA, Professor Habaib will provide attendees with guidance on exploiting the oligonucleotide technique to regulate liver transcription.
SMi’s programme for RNA Therapeutics 2016 will include further insight into oligonucleotide technology with discussions on new treatments for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, targeted delivery beyond the liver, modulating gene expression with oligonucleotides, functionalised nanoparticles and chemically modified oligonucleotides.
Featured speakers on the programme include: Sarepta Therapeutics, MiNA Therapeutics, Isis Pharmaceuticals, BioNTech AG, Cristal Therapeutics, plus many more.
