Nongsa Carnival is a part of Destination Nongsa Lifestyle Festival which its goal is to increase the awareness of Nongsa area as a destination in Batam Island that was conducted in conjunction with Turi Beach Resort’s 26th Anniversary. This event also conducted as a platform to demonstrate the uniqueness of Turi Beach Resort by inviting special guest artists, arts and the involvement of the local and international community that will liven the festival like no other. Beside all of the performances, there were a carnival fancy costumes show, games and other alluring agenda.

“The aim of the event is introducing Nongsa area as a destination which appears as a unique and attractive spot” said Mr. Sumantr Endang as a resort General Manager as well as the Chairman of the 2nd Nongsa Carnival. Correspondingly, Mr. Sumantri Endang also showed his appreciation to Wonderful Indonesia as they fully supported the “free visa” for 45 countries in 9 entry points all around Batam and Bintan including Nongsapura Ferry Terminal. By this new regulation, it was expected to help the growth of foreign tourist especially in Nongsa are.

This 2nd Nongsa Carnival was taken two days. On the first day, there were lots of activities available from day to night. There were adult zone and kids’ zone with various activities lined up from fun games; aquarobic fun act; water polo rings boy; fun dive toys; free throw basket; sand castle building; dove racing; fun golf; art and souvenir exhibition; gem stone exhibition; tattoo and henna corner; caricature sketch; culinary displays by talented chefs as well as live Indonesian entertainment event open for resort guests and global tourists. Those made the atmosphere of the resort became festive and fun.

The highlights of the event was “ Indonesian Night “ which took place during the Al Fresco Gala Dinner at Yacht Club terrace. It was featuring a lavish of the best Nusantara Buffet inspired by the top 30 best Indonesian culinary icons; the mesmerizing Bali dance named Kecak and Cendrawasih; Indonesia famous martial arts named pencak silat; and crooning with live band. Even more, there will be spectacular open-sea fireworks amongst others.

Attended on the event, Mr. Dusep Mulya as a representative from Ministry of Tourism, Mr. Guntur Sakti from Riau Island Tourism Ministry Office, Destination Nongsa’s General Manager, and many foreign tourists were there witnessed the magnificent performances of cultural showcase.

The event was opened by Sekapur Sirih dance, Mr. Sumantri Endang followed by giving a welcome remark at the podium. There were award and prize presentation for the recent 2nd Fascinating Turi Beach Photography Competition. Turi Beach also gave Lifetime Achievement to Mr. Joseph KS Tan as a dedicated Master Photography of Singapore. Then, all performances such as pencak silat, cendrawasih dance, carnival fancy costume show, kecak dance, kebaya fashion show took their turn to steal guests’ attention. Besides, it was also a games named “Act Like Indonesian” which made some participants dressed and play as a native Indonesian. The event was closed by spectacular firework shots which ignited the night like no others.

On the 13th of September, there were also 2nd Nongsa Carnival Jong Race, a Riau Islands mini boat race at Turi Beach Resort. 2nd Nongsa Carnival 2015 was fully supported by Wonderful Indonesia, Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia.
