The Neighborhood @ thepublicblogger.com is an original, online collaborative of visual, recording & written-word artists, delivering thought-provoking editorial, imaginative fiction, inspirational prose and educational essays, within an all-inclusive forum. What gives The Neighborhood its edge, in the wide-open expanse of the underground, is that no topics are taboo or off limits. Refreshingly, they are presented in a way to provoke dialogue and to entertain.
That foundation is most evident in its latest project, curiously called #TAG. Named for the delivery, rather than the subject, #TAG has enlisted 12 artists and writers of different genres, from all parts of the globe, to define leadership and authority on a community level, with the purpose of contributing to a solution in cities and towns where relationships may be strained.
While The Neighborhood operates within the blogging format, its creator, Kendall F. Person believes, "Blogging is a performance art and every post should be a show." So rather then simply recruit writers to submit a post, he has employed them into a sophisticated game of tag. Within their disclipine of the arts, each contributor is given 24 hours after being 'tagged' to respond, state their position and tag someone else on the now infamous 'tag list'. If they are unable to do so, they will be frozen out, however, Person is clear to note that #TAG is not a competition. but rather "an artists collaboration on a continual conversation, with the purpose of provoking real dialogue, leading to real solutions".
There appears to be some buzz already generated in social media and the blogosphere, as writers and artists are still trying to get on the list, even though it was filled in just two hours after posting.
#TAG runs from September 1 - 13 and while Person believes, that most viewers and readers that tune in are hoping for answers or to take note of how the various artists interpret a very serious subject, he has little doubt that some will be watching to see who crumples on the underground's biggest stage and freezes up.
#TAG.... you're it. Begins September 1, Only in The Neighborhood @ http://www.thepublicblogger.com/ Because everyone has a contribution to make.
