FULLERTON, Calif. -- The Fullerton Host Lions Club is inviting all parents and concerned citizens to a conference on the school changes called Common Core on Thursday August 27, 2015 at 6PM at the Fullerton Public Library conference room, 353 W. Commonwealth Avenue in Fullerton. The change that the Common Core demands from us is considerable. We are sponsoring this educational event in conjunction with The Parents’ Voice USA, a parent group committed to keeping parents abreast of issues that relate to their student's success and well being.
Organizing this service project gives us a chance to help young people to develop skills which will make them better citizens, said Lions Club Secretary Walt Rountree.
In addition to the clubs upcoming service event, the club conducts a variety of projects including a Student Speaker Contest, Lions Flag Day, the Lions Youth Leadership Institute and vision help for the needy.
Lions clubs are groups of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs. For more information or to get involved with the Fullerton Host Lions Club, please contact Walt Rountree at (714) 719-1718 or wtre44@juno.com or www.fullertonlionsclub.org.
