Novel Once a Month Available as Audiobook

LAS VEGAS -- Peralta Publishing has just released an audiobook version of Kelvin L. Reed’s latest novel, Once a Month, featuring the voice talents of veteran voiceover actress Quiana Goodrum.

Reed’s fifth novel tells the story of Rose and Tony Monroe, a financially strapped married couple who enter into an arrangement with Cam, the wife’s attractive, wealthy—but very lonely—best friend, that involves Tony sleeping with Cam once a month for pay.

Reed was asked about his experience turning his work into an audiobook for the first time. “Working with Quiana was amazing,” he gushed. “Listening to the story being narrated by such a talented professional gave me goose bumps. I felt the characters’ jealousy, fear, loneliness, exhilaration and all their other emotions.”

Goodrum, who has narrated numerous other works including Tease, A Darker Shade of Midnight: A LaShaun Rouselle Mystery, and Bet on Love, was equally complimentary about working with Reed. “As soon as you open the book, as soon as you read the very first chapter, he hits you with something you did not expect,” she declared. “And it just goes places you just can’t imagine, which is what I want in a book.”

The collaboration between Reed and Goodrum is even more fascinating because the writer and actress, who live in different states, never met face to face. They were introduced via a company called Audiobook Creation Exchange, or ACX, which connects writers with narrators.
