ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- All children, art lovers, music lovers, adults and book collectors are invited to Create Art 4 Good Studio at 1115 Main Street in Rochester to meet the author Rhonda Fischer. She will be signing her award-winning book Randy Kazandy, Where Are Your Glasses? A book about a little boy who gets eye glasses for the first time.
This book is an award winner of the prestigious Mom's Choice Award. The Mom's
Choice Awards honors excellence in family-friendly media, products and services.
An esteemed panel of judges includes education, media and other experts as well
as parents, children, librarians, performing artists, producers, medical and business professionals, authors, scientists and others. A sampling of the panel members includes:
Dr. Twila C. Liggett, ten-time Emmy-winner, professor and founder of PBS's Reading
Rainbow; Julie Aigner-Clark, Creator of Baby Einstein and The Safe Side Project; Jodee
Blanco, and New York Times best-selling Author; LeAnn Thieman, motivational speaker

violas playing live, as Eastman School of Music students Sam Edwards and Sergio
I. Muñoz Leiva will be playing classical pieces for the event.

Born in Santiago, Chilean violist Sergio Muñoz began his musical education at age
seven playing classical guitar, violin, and viola. At age fourteen, he started his formal
viola studies withPenelope Knuth at the Institute of Music at the Catholic University
of Chile. He is the recipient of multiple grants and awards from institutions in his home
country such as the Youth Orchestras Foundation, the Municipal Theatre of Santiago
Fellowship, and the National Council for Culture and the Arts. In 2009, he was personally
awarded a scholarship by the President of Chile to attend the Interlochen Arts Academy
in northern Michigan. Muñoz holds a Bachelor of Music from the New England Conservatory,
where he studied with Kim Kashkashian and Dimitri Murrath. He is currently pursuing his
Master of Music degree at the Eastman School of Music under the guidance of Carol
Rodland.Sergio is an enthusiastic advocate of personal interactions and collaboration,
which he realizes inmusic through his passion for chamber music and teaching. In his
spare time, he enjoys swimming, cooking, and engaging with other art forms, such as
visual arts and literature. He is an active member of the Groupmuse community, a musical
social networrk that connects young musicians and local audiences through chamber
music house parties.
Violist Sam Edwards, born in Detroit, Michigan, began studying viola at the age of 10.
He started private studies with violist Shanda Lowery-Sachs and went on to study with
Caroline Coade, both members of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Edwards has
attended Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and Bowdoin International Music Festival; he was an Emerson Scholar at the Interlochen Arts Camp. Edwards is currently pursuing his Bachelor
of Music with Carol Rodland at the Eastman School of Music.Sam is an avid chef and outdoorsman. He is a Life Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. During his time with
the Boy Scouts, he discovered a passion for nature conservation, hiking, canoeing, backpacking, and camping. Since arriving at Eastman, Sam has rediscovered his love
of poetry and other written works, especially theatre.
