AUSTIN, Texas -- "We all know someone with mental health issues - whether we know it or not" ...The chilling opening lines to the Indiegogo fundraising page for the new independent feature film, PAPER CUTS from Austin-based Greenless Studios.
The film, a co-production with Founders City Films, is seeking $15,000 in funds for production. More than $2,000 were raised in the first week, and with just over 20 days remaining (the campaign wraps up on February 13, 2015) the producers are looking to get the word out about the project to help cross their fundraising finish line.
From the Indiegogo page:
"This film tackles issues that are often either ignored or only discussed in hushed tones. We bring the issues of depression to light in a realistic and relatable way that helps bring insight and hope. By contributing to this film, you are helping us to raise awareness of these issues in a creative field.
Additionally you will be supporting female driven film - this story centers around complex and diverse women in a story we know both men and women can relate to. Our director, Ima Leupp, and writer, Kelli Horan, as well as the rest of our crew (a good portion of which are women) are all dedicated to furthering a female narrative both behind and in front of the camera.
Your contribution will make this important film not only a reality, but a true success."

Like most films that use crowdfunding to gather funds, contributors can select from a variety of 'perk' levels. Everything from digital downloads to DVDs, posters, and even an opportunity to appear in the film are up for grabs – depending on how generous a potential contributor is feeling.
