INDIANAPOLIS -- We have created the first ever system that allow paramedics to send ultrasound imagining in real-time from ambulances and emergency vehicles to all smart devices running ISO and Android software. This innovative system uses the cellular towers to transmit real time ultrasound imagining to surgeons and other medical practitioners for enhanced diagnosis and collaboration. Paramedics can now cutt down the golden hour of truama by allowing the surgeons to be more prepared for the incoming paients. While the traumatic abdominal exam will be a large percentage of what we do, I also picture the ultrasound used for cardiac exam (including the pulmonary exam) for cardiac arrest.In many urban settings, cardiac arrests and trauma are about 50/50 for true emergent runs. In a more rural setting, cardiac arrest is more common. The pulmonary exam, part of the evaluation for cardiac arrest, is something that Daniel Lichtenstein developed; we look very good in pushing this particular facet.
