CityAlert.com's Damon Clark Receives Chicago Defender Men Of Excellence Award

CHICAGO -- The Chicago Defender's 2015 Men of Excellence Induction Ceremony was held on January 16th. The gala event was held in the Crystal Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, located at 151 E. Wacker Drive in Chicago, IL.

This is the eighth consecutive year that the Chicago Defender has honored Chicago area African-American men who have demonstrated excellence in their professional and personal lives. The men come from a variety of fields including business, finance, medical, public service, education, religion, and media. Each of the honorees have served their communities through their careers, volunteerism, and/or philanthropic efforts.

Honorees are nominated by Chicago Defender readers and must be at least 21 years of age and a resident of the Chicago metropolitan area, among other requirements.

Damon Clark, CEO and founder of CLEW-Less Enterprises Inc., DBA CityAlert.com, was one of the local media men honored by the Chicago Defender.

Clark joins more than 30 other honorees who were selected this year. They include First District Cook County Commissioner Richard Boykin, State Rep. LaShawn Ford, Harvey Mayor Eric Kellogg, new Chicago City Treasurer Kurt Summers, Jr., and Com Ed’s Billy McFarland.

WMAQ-TV/NBC 5 news anchor Art Norman served as the emcee for the special evening. Opal Staples was the musical entertainment for the event.

Along with the "Men of Excellence" honorees, Michael A. House from Allpoints Security and Detective was given a special Lifetime Achievement Award.
