NEW YORK -- As one of NYC's leading schools for students with learning difficulties, Aaron School has recently published a two part blog on their website, offering a unique insight into their celebrated arts program. Their video, two part presentation also features incredible works of art, all created by students of Aaron School's high school, located in Midtown, Manhattan.
Students get to work with a variety of materials as part of the arts program, which definitely shows in the wide range of creative expressions displayed throughout the school campus. “As students become more skilled they have more access to different materials including print making, drawing and mixed media” commented the head teacher of visual arts in Aaron School. “We also give students the freedom to self advocate for the kind of mediums they would like to work in. The results of these freedoms are evident in the finished work”.
The diversity aspect of the arts program does not only concern the type of materials the students use when creating their projects. Students work individually on their projects and progress in an independent basis. Furthermore, students are constantly offered opportunities to continue and further develop their own, unique skill-set and talents.
Aaron School's community values a safe and supportive school climate for all of our students. The faculty and staff strongly believe that every student's learning should be ambitious, focused and goal oriented. The arts program offers creative opportunities that celebrate individual strengths and help in developing effective communication skills. The school's website offers the complete 2 part video that further discusses these aspects, as well as many others.
Aaron School offers tours of their campus throughout the year. When visiting the school visitors have the opportunity to see some of the recent project the students have completed. Divided into two distinct locations within Midtown, Manhattan, the Elementary and Middle School is located on 45th street while the High School is on 30th street.
