H.E. Hussein Al Hammadi, UAE Minister of Education, has recently been briefed on the qualitative initiatives undertaken by Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) to enrich the knowledge and entrench the culture of creativity, innovation and scientific research through ‘Smart Learning.’ The qualitative initiatives complement the university’s drive towards ‘smart’ transformation in line with the vision and directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and President of the University.
H.E. Al Hammadi was briefed during his visit to HBMSU campus to identify the features of the integrated learning environment that are available for the university’s learners and accredited academic programs that effectively respond to the successive variables and keep pace with technological development as one of the most distinctive features of the 21st century. The Minister of Education, accompanied by Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, HBMSU Chancellor, and number of faculty and administrative members, toured the university and checked its diverse facilities. During the tour, he was also briefed on the ‘Virtual Classroom,’ which is considered a turnaround in terms of enhancing the flexibility and quality of ‘Smart Learning.’
H.E. Al Hammadi commended HBMSU’s achievement of becoming one of the leading educational institutions in the region in a record time. He also praised the University for being the first specialized educational institution to realize early about the rapid changes taking place globally in the field of information and communications technology, education, and knowledge and have become an important part of its educational courses.
Adding further, H.E. Al Hammadi said: “The distinctive administrative and educational practices, modern educational facilities, elite academics and specialists, group of scheduled courses, and means of advanced teaching have made HBMSU a model for a modern educational institution. It represents a perfect academic destination for learners, scholars and researchers who are looking forward to the future and better job opportunities.”
On his part, Dr. Mansoor Al Awar shared that the visit of H.E. Al Hammadi complements the leading position that HBMSU has achieved—being one of the best models for smart learning in the Arab World. He emphasized that the university is keen to provide an advanced learning environment and develop an overall portfolio of academic programs based on innovative teaching methods and best international practices adopted in various fields of knowledge. Such an environment will also support the governmental orientation towards the optimal investment in human recourses.
