Cetrix Limited, a leading European mobile device manufacturer, has been awarded a four-year framework contract to supply tablet computers to schools in the Greater London area.
In September, the London Borough of Lewisham launched a tender for suppliers to provide educational ICT solutions and specialist ICT goods and services to schools, councils and academies. The tender consisted of lots covering a full range of ICT solutions operated by educational institutions including design, specification, supply, integration, implementation, testing, training, support and maintenance. The scope of this tender later expanded beyond Lewisham borough to cover all schools in the Greater London area.
Cetrix, as a manufacturer of high quality, affordable mobile devices participated in this tender as a specialist provider of tablet computer devices and accessories. Cetrix was among the seven manufacturers and major distributors selected to supply goods and services in this category. Cetrix’s quality, customizability, variety of models and configurations, and affordability were decisive factors that lead to its selection.
Cetrix introduced its new line of educational tablet PCs at the beginning of 2014. Offering both Android and Windows based devices, its tablets for London schools include the 9.7” Krista CM970Q Android tablet featuring Retina display, one of the best in the industry with 2048x1536 pixels resolution, a 7,600 mAh long life battery, and a 5 MP autofocus camera.
This product line also includes the 10.1” Tesla CZ1017 Windows tablet with an Intel HD graphics chip, up to 64 GB of Micro SD storage, a 5 MP camera and an 8,000 mAh long life battery.
All devices offered by Cetrix to schools in greater London are powered by a 1.6 or 1.8 GHz Quad-core CPU, 2GB RAM, hardened frame, impact-resistant folding hybrid case for the tablet and keyboard, and optional stylus pen.
As part of its services for this contract, Cetrix provides several device customization options free of charge to all schools selecting its products, which will enable these schools to better manage and track their devices.
Cetrix’s educational tablets have been used by schools and universities in the United States, Africa, the Middle East, and Oceania. Cetrix enhances its products regularly with the latest mobile computing technology, such as NFC, Smart Card Readers, 4G, HD Retina displays and wireless connectivity. Cetrix’s customers have enjoyed its unique high quality services, including customization that ranges from the informational and presentational levels all the way to architecture and security.
