47 Minutes is already a successful play, and now it is a successful film as well. Written and produced by Joshua Michael French, 47 Minutes also features French in one of the leading roles.
Written by French as a play in 2010, it was first performed in 2011 on stage at Utah Valley University. It has since been performed in various festivals and universities in the United States and in Europe. It was also published in the Writer's Digest in 2011, in One Act Play Depot in 2012, and in Touchstones in 2013.
The film version of 47 Minutes began pre-production in 2012 and filming in Utah was completed in the spring of 2013. Post production was completed in 2014 and the premiere was held in December 2014.
"It has been a wonderful ride from concept, to stage play, to completion as a film. I am so grateful to all the cast and crew who helped to make this dream a reality," said French after the premiere.
The story is about a selfless flight attendant, a down-and-out paramedic, and an overworked lawyer. It is a story of three perfect strangers, who are thrown together on a collision course, converging on the moment that defined this generation.
Sam (Max Mount) only has one thing keeping him from his wife and their anniversary trip, his law firm's biggest case, potentially sabotaged by his right hand man. After their confrontation, nothing will be the same.
All Michael (Joshua Michael French) wanted was his seat back on Ladder 41. Nothing was the same the morning he got his chance.
Amy (Kristen Jensen) was called in for what was supposed to be a normal flight. After take-off, nothing would ever be the same.
The film is listed on IMDb at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3470734 and the dramatic trailer can be seen at the film's website www.47minutes.com.
