ATLANTA -- With open hearts and hands, Georgia STAND-UP is following their mission by giving to impoverished people and those that need a little extra help in the community.
Launching their annual STAND-UP AND GIVE BACK event held at 203 Forsyth Street SW Atlanta, GA 30303 this Friday December 12, 2014 10am - 2pm. The goal is to top last years donated items which helped over 300 people.
Families living under the poverty line make tough choices every month between putting food on their tables and clothes on their children or paying the rent and utilities. Many of the people that show up for help are working families.
In order to keep pace with the needs, Georgia STAND- UP is encouraging the community to Volunteer and continue their generous donations of clothing, coats/gloves blankets and personal care items for families and individuals. "If we dig a little deeper and go through our closets and pantries in Atlanta alone it would make a huge difference for our neighbors who need help during the holidays and winter months" stated a Volunteer planning to come out on Friday.
Redistribution of these donated items can be dropped off at 501 Pulliam Street SW Suite 100, Atlanta, GA 30312 No later than 8:30 am Friday Morning December 12th 2014
Volunteers arrive early Friday morning no later than 8:30 am dressed appropriately for cold whether. *Please eat breakfast prior to arriving.

Georgia STAND-UP, a Think & Act Tank for Working Communities, is an alliance of leaders representing community, faith, academic, and labor organizations which organizes and educates communities about issues related to economic development.
