BANGALORE, India -- -Step by Step, Panchsheel (Delhi); Indus Early Learning Centre, Whitefield (Bangalore); Kangaroo Kids, Banjara Hills (Hyderabad); Kangaroo Kids, Bandra (Mumbai); Mongrace Montessori House, Short Street (Kolkata); Vruksha Montessori, Alwarpet (Chennai); Leapbridge International Preschool, Kalyani Nagar (Pune); EuroKids, Satellite (Ahmedabad); Pallavan, Sohna Road/DLF Phase I (Gurgaon), and Windows Play Group & Nursery School, Sector 50 (Noida), have been adjudged the most admired pre-primary preschools in India.
The EducationWorld India Preschool Rankings 2014 released on December 6 rates and ranks 173 selected preschools in ten cities -- Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Ahmedabad, Gurgaon and Noida -- where awareness of the vital importance of foundational early childhood care and education (ECCE) is highest.
To conduct the survey, over 200 field researchers of the Delhi-based market research agency Centre for Forecasting & Research Pvt. Ltd (C fore) quizzed 3,128 respondents including parents (with at least one child in preschool), teachers and principals, asking them to rate 173 preschools on ten parameters of education excellence including teacher competence, teacher welfare and development, safety and hygiene, leadership, innovative teaching, value for money, parental involvement, individual attention to students, special needs education and infrastructure. The scores awarded to preschools under each parameter were totaled to rank preschools in each city inter se.
“A spate of neuroscience studies conducted in the new millennium has conclusively proved that children’s brains are almost fully developed by the time they are eight years of age. Therefore professionally-administered ECCE which stimulates cognitive development and generates love of learning in the early years is of critical importance in developing India’s human resource endowment. The purpose and intent of the annual EducationWorld India Preschool Rankings is to stimulate the multiplication and upgradation of ECCE institutions so they transform into excellent pre-primaries/preschools providing children in the 0-6 age group enriching early years education. By rating and ranking the country’s best preschools in the major cities, we hope to stimulate healthy institutional competition and help young parents to make suitable preschool choices,” says Dilip Thakore, editor of EducationWorld.
The Top 10 preschools of all ten cities will be felicitated at the forthcoming 5th Early Childhood Education Global Conference 2015 scheduled for January 23, 2015 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Mumbai.
