Common Essay Writing Problems Discussed

This was stated by Dr. Samuel Franklin in an extension lecture delivered here at the Institute of Creative Writing.

Addressing to the students and young scholars, Dr. Samuel Franklin said, “Going off the subject in question is a common problem faced by the school and college students. Interestingly, there are some simple solutions, as students should always write the question accurately and completely in both of their notes and main essay script. When writing their essays, students should make a proper planning as this will help find answers in the formulation. Young academic writers should make a connection between the wordings they use with the central question related to the issue raised in the essay,” Dr. Franklin said.

According to the Dr. Samuel, “when presenting the main arguments in an essay, students must examine themselves the relevancy and applicability of the central issue again and again. Each paragraph should just an idea or a theme that is announced in the opening paragraph. This idea or theme should be well related and connected to the question or topic you are asked to discuss in the essay. If you want to discuss another issue as an essential and supportive part of your arguments, make it sure that you come back to the main subject very soon without wasting too much time and efforts. When doing so, always explain the reason for discussing the secondary points instead of focusing on the central argument of your essay”.
He was of the opinion that quotations must not be used as a primary argument in the essay as the same is not a substitute. “Avoid using other’s words when presenting your central question in essay. Try to develop a quotation free argument, which only belongs to you. The students must write each essay as per the given writing and referencing format, as any non-compliance with these formats (e.g. MLA, APA, Chicago, Turabian, Harvard and Oxford, etc.) may lead to a chaotic scenario for the writer. Giving an example of the available writing resources, he recommended BestEssayWriting.com, including some other offline writing guides.

In his address, Dr. Franklin emphasized that each word written in the essay must be relevant. “There is no need to show the ultimate direction of your point if you are not asked to do so. It is necessary to indicate clearly the point of your case being discussed and let your words explain the rest by themselves. A proper arrangement of work develops the essay automatically without putting extra efforts by the writer. A well-structured and ideally planned essay plan shows the logic of the main arguments straight away and this also displays the relationship of is following sections. Every new topic should be clearly defined or as soon as they are set start dealing with it. This declaration will provide all references to your intentions needed. If you want something light display of the structure, you can use formulations. The conventions signs, furthermore, may vary slightly from one topic to another,” he briefly mentioned.

Giving more details about the ways to produce academic essays and educational papers, Dr. Samuel Franklin said, “In some of the studies, it is necessary to announce in advance what you want to produce in black and white. Your completed writing assignment or academic paper presents the results of your scholarly and research efforts. You do not require giving explanation how you have managed to produce such written works in the form of any essay or academic paper. Your teacher or course supervisor will be interested in knowing how many difficulties you faced while collecting supporting evidences and arguments in order to prove your main argument in your write-up. In your essay, if you want to argue that the central idea or the main question raises some grim and significant issues, you can do the same frankly, but these issues must be based on rationales. You many explicitly discuss the relevance of these challenging issues to the given topic or subject in question. Besides raising these questions, you may also propose some applicable and practical answers. When writing essays and other academic assignments, students must not ask matters in the form of an argument, as they have to give the answers their own in a straight line”, he explained.
