NEW YORK -- -- The road to success for rap sensation Sha Mula started January of this year. The Brooklyn native created a buzz for himself by posting freestyles with his team Alotta Money Music and partner in rhyme, Chase Benji, Over time the dynamic duo has created a following totaling thousands of youtube and facebook views with every video they drop.
As of October, Sha Mula signed with Burns Consulting; an innovative consulting and management firm based in New York City. The first marketing move by Burns Consulting to get the young rapper's career off the ground was to have their new artist record an original track instead of the freestyles that's been giving him his street credibility, Next, they created a music video for the single directed by Tyro Elite.
Sha Mula’s first single, “Name On It.” is a song with a strong hook and intense delivery. Day one of the video was shot in Daddy’s House at Bad Boy Studios during a showcase hosted by BCG Records, a subsidiary of Burns Consulting. The showcase featured many talented indie rap artists such as; Prophecy Da Future and G.O.E Nay Nillz. Music was provided by Ahmed and DJ Will of 105.1. The showcase was judged by Brandon Robinson of The Source Magazine with a cameo appearance by female rap artist; Bubbles. Day two was shot at the Ink Lounge in the Time Hotel with additional cameo appearances by Face Mr. Magnificent and his Dream 2 Angels.
The release of the much anticipated official music video for “Name On It” will be debuted on facebook and youtube this Saturday, November 22nd at 8:30pm. Keeping in the tradition of his "Freestyle Friday" videos, Sha Mula will drop another freestyle on Friday, November 21st at the usual time; 11:30pm. This weekend be sure to set your clocks and watch the numbers rise.
