ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Phantom Data Services announces the release of its PhantomLink Alert self-monitored alarm system as a free open hardware/open source project. Complete technical details, including circuit schematics, printed circuit board layouts, bill of materials, and installation instructions are now available at no charge through the PhantomLink website.
The simple and inexpensive system enables nearly any existing security system to be monitored from the cloud. The PhantomLink Alert is specifically designed to breathe new life and functionality into old, unmonitored alarm systems. All it requires is an internet connection.
The PhantomLink Alert directly links an existing security system to the internet. If an alarm signal is detected, the device immediately notifies the user via email or text message. Users can configure the notification settings through an on-board web configuration panel.
"PhantomLink is the most simple and inexpensive solution for do-it-yourself alarm monitoring," says Adam Peters, the project founder. "It uses the existing alarm system and internet connection, so there are no additional fees. It's really gratifying to see so many people finally breaking free of contracts and monthly service fees."
Do-it-yourself alarm installers and electronics hobbyists are encouraged to participate in the project to develop and expand the capabilities.
