LONGVIEW, Wash. -- The Cowlitz river has had a banner Coho fishing season already this year, but the late Coho run is proving to be a phenominal run as well. Record numbers have been coming up the Cowlitz and the hatchery is reporting well over 40,000 some Coho running through the traps so far.
Since the late Coho run is just hitting it's peak there are still plenty of bright fish coming up. Although there are tons of Coho currently throughout the entire river Coho fishing is most productive near and around the hatchery.
There is also plenty of great fishing access below the hatchery that should be good fishing as well just don't foreget to bring the Long Johns because as you well know it's cold out there.
Our Lunkers Guide official Coho fishing forecast for the Cowlitz river is good to excellent.
If your looking for late season Coho the Cowlitz river is definitely the place to be. So get your pole and get going because a Coho run this great can't last forever.
