US Market Update - 29th October Review 2014

Later today the Federal Reserve will have completed their October 2 day meeting and it is expected that they will confirm that they will finish their QE as planned at the end of this month.

Since introducing the program the Federal Reserve has injected $3.5tn into the system and many believe this has been the main driver of the US economy over the past couple of years.

Now, the key news everyone is hoping to hear later today is an indication on when interest rates may begin to climb back up. Many forecasters have predicted a Spring 2015 increase yet now that the economy is starting to show some signs of strength, many analysts believe that a rate increase could be delayed as long as until 2016.

This anticipation and strong corporate earnings helped the S&P 500 close just 2% off of its all time high of last month, ending the day back over 17,000 at 17,005.75.
