PROVO, Utah -- Career Step, an online provider of career-focused education and corporate training, is pleased to announce the release of a new video exploring the career opportunities and education options open to pharmacy technicians. The video is designed to help individuals considering a career change quickly explore the pharmacy technician field.
“The demand for pharmacy technicians is increasing nationwide,” said Jerolyn Robertson, Career Step Vice President of Academics. “This need is largely due to the growing demand for prescriptions as well as the more active role pharmacies are playing in patient care. These factors make the pharmacy technician field a great choice for those looking for a quick career change. Students can be trained and working in just a few months, and well-trained professionals are needed all over the country.”
The new Career Step pharmacy technician video provides information on what these professionals do on a daily basis, nationwide job demand and average salaries. Viewers will also learn more about education requirements for pharmacy technicians as well as details on earning national certification and securing an externship. The video aims to provide students with the information needed to decide whether a pharmacy technician career is right for them.
“We talk to students every day who know they want to go back to school but are unsure which career path to choose,” said Ben Hartman, Career Step Director of Admissions. “We have created this video, in addition to other program-specific videos, to help students quickly find the information they need to explore career opportunities and make informed decisions.”
Career Step’s Pharmacy Technician program is one of the most popular among Career Step students, and the school has trained thousands to take advantage of the pharmacy technician job opportunities available nationwide. The Career Step program is specifically designed to prepare students to pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Exam upon graduation, and graduates are provided a voucher to cover the cost of the certification exam. Walgreens and CVS Pharmacy have also partnered with Career Step to provide externship opportunities to Career Step students, giving them the chance to gain hands-on experience before graduation.
