ATLANTA -- National Black Television (www.NBTV1.com), the first onlne television network, will premiere the "The 11th Hour - Enough Is Enough" on January 17, 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia.
National Black Televison is widely known for producing several historically black college and university productions, civil rights documentaries, and mini series over the last ten years. "The epidemic of African American males at the hands of the police force is a rising epidemic, " says Stanley Everage, Jr., National Black Televison CEO and Executive Producer on "The 11th Hour" stage production. "The human side of this epidemic was revealed to my team when we were on the ground in Ferguson--most notedly when Mike Brown's father cried out in despair at his son's grave site. It's a story that must be told".
“The 11th Hour” explores the various perspectives as it relates to the relationship between the police force and inner city youth. The story is set against the backdrop of senseless killing of two high school athletes at the hands of the police. A barber shop behind police lines hosts a group of passionate voices engaged in a heated and spirited discussion about the current state of affairs in a balanced, and unique way.
Quick-paced, anxious, exhilarating, inspirational, and direct, "The 11th Hour" is at once educational, purposeful, emotional, and searing. "The 11th Hour" indicts the systematic indifference and criminalization of our inner city youth. It brings forth compelling commentary supported by historical, economic, and judicial perspectives and offers hope in the midst of a deadly epidemic.
National Black Television has partnered with The Positive Arts Movement. Angela Carswell, an award-winning Atlanta Playwright, has written the script and together with her partners, Reggie "Love" Cason and Christopher "Noxx" Williams, developed a compelling story honoring Stanley Everage's vision.
Early attention to the project has created aspirations for a multi-city tour Internationally and the content will be featured exclusively on National Black Television. Learn more at www.NBTV1.com
