BANGALORE, India -- Applications are invited from eligible Kannada film makers for entering in the Kannada Cinema competition section of the 7th Bengaluru International Film Festival, 2014. The films censored between 1st Sept 2013 and 31 Aug 2014 are eligible for participation. Prescribed application forms and the rules and regulations of the Competition are available on the website of the festival. All details regarding the Competition may be obtained from the Office of the Festival also.

About Karnataka Chalanchitra Academy: Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy was formed by the Government of Karnataka in 2009 to promote film culture in Karnataka. The Academy has taken up several projects to develop a healthy film culture in the state and adopted the motto of promoting ‘Education in Cinema and Cinema in Education’. KCA has been conducting Film Appreciation Courses in different parts of the state, in colleges and film societies. It has also promoted the establishment of district, institutional and campus film societies all over the state. The Academy is now mandated by the government to conduct the 7th BIFFES, the international film festival in Bengaluru, showcasing the Best in Cinema from around the world.
