KANSAS CITY, Mont. -- After decades of stop motion animation filmmaking by LEGO® fans, people who craft films with bricks will soon have the first feature length documentary about their medium. Bricks in Motion is a non-fiction film about the diverse world of individuals involved in the art of making films with LEGO® toys. It will explore the personalities behind the hobby in an insightful, character driven way.
The documentary will feature interviews with people from a wide variety of backgrounds: a bicycle messenger in Seattle, a mother of two in California, a film student in Ontario, YouTube animators Forrest Whaley and Sean Willets, and many others. Through this, the film will explore what led these people from many walks of life to make films with LEGO®, what makes them unique, and what unifies them as a community.
The Kickstarter Campaign for Bricks in Motion is intended to raise funds for theproduction of this documentary. Rewards for supporters include custom sets, soundtracks, copies of the finished documentary, and an all-new collection of the finest LEGO® stop motion films with exclusive director commentaries.
