The sentiment in the market is slowly leaning towards reducing higher discount offers and being more selective of the discount.

Much to our surprise we came to know that one of the most prominent car repairers in the UAE is offering a 50% and 70% discount for their Porsche service. Reason enough for us to make our way to Dubai Business Park where one of the most successful independent Porsche repair centers has his workshop; AR Motors.

We met up with Alex Renner, Managing Director of AR Motors and asked him what has triggered them to run such a campaign?

“Well”, he smiled, “we usually do not give discounts on the service we are offering. However, over the past two month we run a campaign for our Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and Aston Martin clients, which was a summer campaign reducing the labor fees by 10% and the spare parts costs by 15% respectively. This campaign was very well received. Our Porsche clients however came to us and asked us to do also something tangible for them. After discussing this with some of our suppliers, TOTAL our premier oil supplier agreed to support a special incentive for our Porsche clients.”

Is this a normal practice for suppliers to participate in such campaigns? Alex replied “Not necessarily. However in our case TOTAL is a close partner of ours since a very long time. Our business relation has manifested itself over the years and the partnership has grown year over year. With the combination of the support from TOTALand our service input we were able to come up with a 50% discount for major and 70% discount for minor Porsche service. This is a very unique offer for us.”

We asked Alex further what AR Motors intent to achieve with this offer? “Offers in our case have been placed very seldom. We are providing high quality repair work, paired with a high know how level and a customer centric approach.” Alex concluded, “This particular campaign was triggered by the opportunity given to us through TOTAL and the fact that we decided to give something back to our loyal Porsche clients.”
