BRISBANE, Australia -- With Father’s Day fast approaching, many people will be searching for the ideal gift. Rather than the traditional socks and jocks, why not help your Dad tick something off his bucket list.
Australia’s favourite online travel destination, Wotif.com, has released thetop bucket-list destinations for male travellers based on the results of a recent survey of almost 7,000 respondents.
Wotif.com spokesperson, Kirsty La Bruniy said that 84% of male respondents revealed they had a specific destination at the top of their travel bucket list.
“Europe was the most popular destination, making its way to the top of many men’s bucket lists, with New York specifically taking second place, followed by the USA as a whole,” Ms La Bruniy said.
“With so much on offer in Europe, with everything from Germany’s famous beer halls to some of the world’s best ski slopes, not to mention the variety of cuisines to try, it’s no surprise Europe is the must-see destination for Aussie males.
“While Europe and New York were popular with both sexes, USA, Canada and South America also rated high on men’s bucket lists.
“The rugged landscapes of these countries and outdoor activities such as hiking the Grand Canyon or snowboarding in Canada are no doubt appealing to blokes.”
Ms La Bruniy said the top reason for men selecting their must-see destination was the iconic attractions they offer.
“It’s not all action and adventure though, with more than a quarter of the male respondents interested in the well-known attractions, closely followed by a destination’s reputation as a top travel spot (19.7%) and the history (12.6%),” Ms La Bruniy said.
