MUMBAI, India -- People in Bollywood city absolutely believe in the experience called “Love at First Sight”. This can be said after looking at people’s reactions while watching the beautiful film made by the London based Director, Mark Playne Love at First Sight, starring Shane Zaza and Francesca Binefa.
On Thursday 21st August 2014, Love at First Sight (LAFS) was screened at the Paraj Mumbai Short Film Festival 2014 that took place at PVR Cinemas, Juhu, one of the best cinemas in Mumbai.
The Festival Director, Vinod Negi and Programme Chairman, Rajesh Jain had organized an amazing short film festival. 60 films shortlisted by the jury, headed by Bollywood Director Sunil Babbar, were screened on 20th August and then the best 16 films were chosen for competition.
It was an honour to be screened in the presence of such amazing and experienced people from Bollywood and the icing on the cake was to be honoured by them.
The Awards ceremony was held in the beautiful Iskcon Auditorium on 22nd August where LAFS was awarded the Best Film and Best director in Professional category. Present at the awards ceremony where politician Raju Pednekar, Action Director Tinu Verma, actor who got famous at Big Boss 7- Ajaz Khan, Director of Ek Chalis Ki Last Local - Sanjay Khanduri among the others.
Having already been well-received at several other international film festivals across 6 continents, LAFS has set a record of 99 screenings in 36 countries and 35 awards.
LAFS is the heart-warming story of a lonely young man’s increasingly creative attempts to attract the attention of the girl of his dreams.
A gentle film of hope and optimism.
The story is told without any dialogue. The grade and music tracks are mixed in Mumbai at QLAB, known for its digital Post-Production by the Indian National Award winner Sinoy Joseph (Best Re-recordist of the final mixed track for Gangs of Wasseypur).
Indians have loved LAFS and it has been a HUGE HIT in India with a great fan base following. Indians and especially Indian men feel empathy for this gentle man in the film. They love Shane Zaza's character called SLYM (Shy Lonely Young Man) as it evokes the soft, kind and loving man within themselves who has experienced the awesome feeling of “Love at First Sight”.
Within India itself, LAFS has been screened at 18 Film Festivals and has won 12 Awards and 4 Nominations.
