Injuries Plague British Superbiker for a Disappointing Start to August Racing

So far, August has proved challenging for British Superbike rider, David Johnson, who is sponsored by Complete Cover Group. Thruxton hosted Round 6 of the racing Championship between the 1st and 3rd August, Round 7 took place at Oulton Park a few days later.

Still battered and bruised from his spectacular crash at Brands Hatch in July, it wasn’t too surprising that Australian born Johnson felt he wasn’t on top form. He finished 12th in both races, putting him in 7th place overall in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship.

In a video recorded just after the race at Oulton Park, Johnson admitted his disappointment. “Not such a good weekend really. I’m still struggling a bit from my crash at Brands Hatch. I just have to re-group a bit after this. I’ve got a couple of weeks off before Cadwell Park [23rd – 25th August]; I’ll get back to full fitness, and then I’ll be trying to get back on that podium, which I know I can do.”

Johnson rides for the PR Racing team, which is contesting the British Superbike and Superstock Championships, as well as road racing at the TT, Ulster and Macau Grand Prix.

Mark Copper, on behalf of Complete Cover Group, confirmed their support for Johnson. “Dave gives 110% to all his races. In light of the injuries he sustained at Brands Hatch, his determination to take part at both Thruxton and Oulton Park deserves full respect.”

And he added, “We’re all rooting for him here at Complete Cover Group and wish him good luck at Cadwell Park.”

Complete Cover Group was launched in 2012, offering specialist cover for Motorcycles and Commercial vehicles. Complete Cover Group is a trading name of The Allen & Allen Group Ltd.
