QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. -- Rock and Roll 101, a bi-weekly alternative to mainstream vintage rock programming, begins its fifth season on KQCK Internet Radio, host Daniel Dullum announced.
Season 5 of Rock and Roll 101 is scheduled for Sunday, August 10, at 5 p.m. Arizona/Pacific Time.
The first two hours feature "All-American Rock," norhing but tunes from rock and roll's first two decades, all made in the USA. Artists include founding fathers Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, and great bands like The Doors, Grass Roots, Paul Revere & The Raiders, The Turtles, Grand Funk and many more. Jackie DeShannon can be heard somewhere in between.
"Liar" by Three Dog Night is the Cover of the Week. The third hour features a musical tribute to the late songwriter Gerry Goffin, who, with ex-wife Carole King, created an impressive string of rock classics in the 1960s.
