NEW YORK -- Multifaceted Artist Jahna Sebastian releases much anticipated EP “I Am Free". Earlier this year Ms. Sebastian debuted the "I Am Free" video on All Hip Hop. The songs featured on the EP are: 1. I Am Free 2. Lift Me Up 3. Time to Love 4. Do It for You 5. Do It for You Remix 6. Do It for You instrumental (City Lights). The "I Am Free" EP was produced, written, recorded, mixed and arranged by the lovely songstress in her studio in London, Multivizion Music.
When asked what thoughts crossed her mind when writing the “I Am Free” EP and what was her inspiration, Ms. Sebastian states “After moving to London in 2006 and starting my life from scratch on my own, while stepping into adulthood I have seen many contradicting sides of it. Starting my business, having my child at the age of 21, sudden detention by mistake made by an immigration officer, a case which rose important questions within myself and took a couple of years to resolve."
She goes on to state how she had to rebuild her life and how difficult it was but she worked diligently to purchase her own home on her own so she could provide for her daughter. "The will power set me free to be myself no matter what. Regardless of how hard the world may try to bend you down, there is a childlike hope that should never be abandoned that your wish may come true and that sets you free and drives you to work harder towards it. "I Am Free" is about the journey to emancipation from deep fears and finding the strength within oneself.”
There is no doubt that Ms. Sebastian dug deep into her soul for this EP. All her struggles and triumphs is reflected and addressed in such a captivating way.
While not recording her highly anticipated EP “I Am Free”, Ms. Sebastian was performing several shows with Kasabian, one of them was on MTV on Soundchain with Zane Lowe, on the main stage Pyramid at Glastonbury Festival, which has been broadcast on BBC and millions tuned in for, another being the historic show at Victoria Park in Leicester called "Summer Solstice" with 50,000 people attending. The show was filmed and screened at cinemas and will be released on DVD soon. The sultry songstress also headlined Baltic Summer Festival as a solo artist performing hits and new material from her “I Am Free" EP.
With that being said, the music world better watch out! The music on this “I Am Free” EP is going to blow everyone's mind, it's uplifting, relatable and its music that touches the soul. Jahna Sebastian who was classically trained on piano and earned her degree in “Music Business” at the age of 20 at the prestigious Russian Academy of Music is a multifaceted power house of talent. She has an astonishing track record of hundreds of songs including recording entire album by Oxxxymiron “Vechniy Jid” which had been rated Best Rap Album of 2011 in Russia and nominated for Russian Urban Music Awards. She is currently working on her upcoming album and collaborating with other artist on their projects.
