A new social media app called GobbleBox will be featured in the Windows Phone Store on May 11, 2014. Each week the Windows Phone Store features notable apps to promote based on functionality, utility, and enjoyment. One of the founders and creator of GobbleBox, Adam Doyle, is excited about being featured in the Windows Phone Store. Not only will this help the system gain new users, but as Doyle notes, “Being featured in new locations will help our community grow internationally and connect people from different cultures and perspectives."
A location based app, GobbleBox allows users to send a "gobble" (message) to any location in the world. Without the need for friends or followers, GobbleBox users can read or respond to messages sent. The map feature allows users to type in the location they want to send a message to and determine the area of the square miles around it. The trending feature allows users to see what top ten cities are trending in the world.
GobbleBox was founded in July of 2013. The app went live in January 2014 in the United States and has since gained users worldwide including India, the Philipinnes, and the United Kingdom. GobbleBox was also the first location based messaging app to be available on all three major mobile platforms - Android, iOS, and Windows Phone.
