KOLKATA, India -- The Heritage School Kolkata's annual fest Youthopia 2014 was a grand success where there was a huge participation from various schools across Kolkata and Howrah. The fest was inaugurated on 2nd May by eminent Bengali actor Saswata Chatterjee in the presence of Mr. Probir Roy, Executive Director, Heritage Group of Institutions, Ms. Seema Sapru, Principal, The Heritage School, Ms. Meenakshi Atal, Vice-principal, The Heritage School and Mr. Pradip Agarwal, CEO, Heritage Group of Institutions. More than 1000 participants were there during the inauguration of the fest. Youthopia 2014 will continue till Sunday 4th May 2014.
Today i.e. on 3rd May, the fest witnessed the presence of Smt. Padmini Narayanan, the First Lady as the Chief Guest and Danseuse Ms. Alokananda Roy as the Guest-of-honour for an NGO event which is also a part of the fest. The NGO event consisted of dance programmes performed by various NGOs run by well known schools in Kolkata. It consisted of dance performances by RAINBOW, an NGO runned by Loreto School, CANVAS runned by Sushila Birla Girls High School, Suryakiran, runned by The Heritage School, TITLI, runned by St. Xaviers School and DISHA runned by Akshar School. Fabulous dance performances excited the students which have shown unique talents among them. Also South Point School had given an extraordinary performance which included a story on urban peer pressures displayed through songs. The 3-day Annual fest Youthopia consisted of various events like One minute to fame, AD spoof, tug-of-war, various sports activities and not to be forgotten music which is the heart of the youth.
