Jacksonville, FL (April 25, 2014) Anais Belly Dance Studio announced its new training class for instructors of Shimmy Chic Fitness™. The training will take place June 21st and 22nd at the studio’s main location in the Avenues Mall (10300 Southside Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32256). Attendees will have over 10 hours of instruction with the creators and master trainers of Shimmy Chic. Shimmy Chic Fitness is a cardio-oriented workout based on the ancient art of belly dance with a modern twist. “Our students describe Shimmy Chic Fitness as being, ‘fun, exciting, calorie-burning and waist-trimming,’” DeGracia says.

Instructors will learn how to construct their classes using a safe warm up, and will be introduced to a variety of fun choreographies followed by safe cool down methods. They’ll also learn how to market their classes so that they can be successful with Shimmy Chic Fitness in any location.

The registration fee for the class is $100 before June 1st. Afterwards it will be $150 for any remaining spots. Anyone interested may register at www.shimmy-chic.com right now.

“Traditional belly dance classes generally focus on technique or choreography,” explains Anais Dance Studio owner/instructor Rafaella DeGracia, who has danced and taught belly dance and related classes for 6 years. “Instead, Shimmy Chic Fitness focuses on cardio, simple dance combinations and on having fun!”

Anais Belly Dance Studio has been open for over six years, bringing belly dance-related art and culture to Jacksonville. Shimmy Chic Fitness has been taught as a class in the Anais Dance Studio since its inception and has become one of its most popular classes, DeGracia explains. Currently the class is taught Wednesdays at 6 p.m. Participants can try their first class at no charge.

“Shimmy Chic Fitness is a great way to increase your strength, stamina and agility,” DeGracia enthuses. “And it’s a heck of a lot more fun than going to the gym!”
