TWICKENHAM, U.K. -- TWICKENHAM, England: Eric and Rufus Children’s Books launches a new early years children book “Jacob Rabbit’s Book of Seasons”, part of their new education range of books targeted at the under-fives.
Jacob Rabbit’s Book of Seasons introduces the concept of seasons via the use of full page colour photographs and simple facts. Over the 36 pages the child learns about spring, summer, autumn and winter in a fun and interesting way.
The book is part of a series of books designed to encourage children to connect reading with the real world and encourage the understanding of concepts. The books are written for 2-5 year olds and are simple books narrated by character and feature bright interesting photos. Other books in the series are:
“Rufus T Bear’s First Reading Book” – Features cars, planes, trains and tractors; each set of pages comes with a repetitive statement e.g. “I like red cars” with a photograph on the facing page of a red Ferrari and the words “Red Car” underneath.
“Arabellafella’s First Reading Book” – Features flowers, toys and interesting food; each set of pages comes with a repetitive statement e.g. “I like dollies” with a photograph on the facing page of a pile of dollies and the words “A pile of dollies” underneath.
“Jacob Rabbit’s Book of Colours” – Features interesting photos covering the colours of the rainbow plus black, white, grey and beige.
The series was inspired by discussions to create our new vision statement. The vision was created with input from Professor Christine Pascal of the Centre for Research in Early Childhood (CREC, St Thomas Children’s Centre, Bell Barn Road, Birmingham B15 2AF).
