Cast Members Of New CMT Show Tobacco Wars Will Live Tweet With Viewers During Show Premiere

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Cast members of the new CMT reality show, “Tobacco Wars,” will be interacting with viewers via Twitter, during the premiere of the show, Saturday night, April 19th at 10pm ET (9pm CT). Scott Gainous, his son Zeke and Nick Riggins, who will be featured in the opening episode have agreed to participate in the live tweeting session. Fans can join the conversation by using the hashtag #TobaccoWars.

The show is centered on the high-stakes world of Kentucky's dark fire industry. Dark fire tobacco, named after the perilous barn fire drying process, is the tobacco used in cigars and chewing tobacco (not cigarettes).

The farmers of Tobacco Wars are country proud and love their lives to the fullest, knowing no other way to live life. They work hard and play even harder, a living embodiment of the old saying "eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we may die." It's the highest stakes anyone could imagine. Their farms, their lives and their family names are on the line each and every year.

In the first episode premiering Saturday, the Gainous farm welcomes home college student Zeke, but questions whether his farm work is up to snuff after spending time away at college. Across the county at the Law farm, Mark Law and his daughters battle about work ethic.

Tobacco Wars is produced by Leftfield Pictures. Executive producers are Brent Montgomery, David George, Jordana Hochman and Matthew J. Braley. David Brown, Augi Jakovac, Chuck Ardezzone and Frank Monti are co-executive producers. Lewis Bogach and Joe Livecchi serve as executive producers for CMT.

CMT is the leading television and digital authority on country music and entertainment, reaching more than 92 million homes in the U.S.
