DOG Media partners with RingBlingz, AppHere, others

NEW YORK -- DOG Media has been off to a hot start to in 2014, finishing Q1 having recently partnered up with a handful of potentially highly disruptive startups, including RingBlingz and AppHere.

RingBlingz has been making headlines left and right lately after a very successful showing at South by Southwest, and seem poised to be the next big thing in the wearable tech space. Taking the form of rings, bracelets, and pendants, RingBlingz fashionable notify you through customizable flashes and vibrations when you’re receiving an important social notification on your phone.

AppHere, which DOG Media recently helped brand as the “Digital IceBreaker,” is a venue-based social platform that allows users to connect with other users who are geographically nearby. While the app has amassed over 50,000 users in South America in quite a short time, AppHere is hoping DOG Media can continue to build off that momentum and help AppHere achieve similar success in the US.

If Q1 is a sign of things to come, we could soon see DOG Media begin a rise to the top, unlike other companies that have come before it such as R/GA. Led by CEO Matthew Medney and his managing partner Brandon Ray, the team of 20+ and quickly expanding is based out of an office near the Empire State building, and is currently looking into expanding into other markets, such as Boston, LA and Austin.

“It’s really humbling,” Medney said when asked what it felt like to work with such potentially disruptive startups only months after launching the company. “At least we know we’re doing something right.”

“Matt works 16-17 hour days, I put in close to that, and our theory is that if we keep up this level of work ethic, that it’ll rub off on the rest of the team,” Ray chimed in.

When asked about future plans, Medney relayed that the plan was to “keep doing what’s been working, and that’s helping business owners achieve their dreams of greatness, while living up to our billing as brand’s best friend.”
