LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- It is time for 8th graders through 12th graders to start thinking about HOW TO GET INTO THE COLLEGE OF THEIR CHOICE! It is also time for their parents to learn about the planning required to get their students into college.
On March 18th, Each One Teach One: Alliance for Academic Access, Achievement and Success will join with SPMG Media; featuring resources from The College Board and lay it all out.
"College Success is achieved through early planning. Come out and we will show you how," states Dr. Chris L. Hickey Sr. to parents of 8th and 9th graders. Dr. Hickey serves as the Executive Director of Each One Teach One: Alliance for Academic Access, Achievement and Success.
Key Issues for discussion for parents and students are:
Why take the PSAT?
Exploring the SAT online.
Coming changes to the SAT
Advanced Placement/Road to College Success
Everything you ever wanted to know about going to college ....and more!
Last year, more than 500 high school students took advantage of a FREE SAT PREP WORKSHOP. Organized by Each One – Teach One Alliance for Academic Access, Achievement and Success and SPMG Media; the SAT math and writing workshops were taught by volunteers from The Al Wooten Jr. Heritage Center and the prestigious West Los Angeles Windward School, with the goal of helping to bridge the academic achievement gap between inner-city youth and their more affluent counterparts. The FREE SAT PREP WORKSHOP provides greater opportunities for students to excel on the SAT Examination.
The overwhelming response to the FREE SAT PREP WORKSHOP indicates that these students have a passion to achieve and desire to improve their SAT scores.
“Some of the achievement gap is really a test preparation gap,” according to Dr. Chris L. Hickey, Sr., Executive Director of Each One – Teach One. “Offering SAT workshops is an important component in making sure all students have access to the best colleges and universities in the country.”
If you have a network of students and/or parents in the Los Angeles area, please share this FREE event with them. Sponsorship opportunities are available. Each One Teach One is a 501c3 tax-deductible organization. Follow the instructions on the flyer to register and to make your tax-deductible donation, visit http://www.freesatprepworkshop.com/
