PASIG CITY, Philippines -- Career opportunities on medical coding are expected to grow in the Philippines. In lieu with this, TeleDevelopment Services, Inc., (TDS) offers a training and certification program for medical professionals to further advance their career. The Medical Coding Training Certification will have separate, yet comprehensive, trainings for those with medical coding experience spanning from 5-6 week courses while beginners will have 8-9 week courses.
The Medical Coding Training Certification will cover the essential concepts on medical coding, human anatomy and medical terminology, coding software training, diagnostic and procedure coding. The program will also discuss information on how to code for diagnoses, supplies, and procedures using the current code sets. This vital information will help future medical coders to widen their knowledge and prepare them for the CPC (Certified Professional Coder) exam administered by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), the biggest medical coding organization in the country.
The training and certification program will be lead by a licensed medical coding instructor, Peter Edu, MD. He is known for the prevailing AAPC’s CPC certification exam passing rate of ninety-eight percent of students who have trained under him.
Among Edu’s noteworthy accomplishments are setting up BPO/KPO projects that needs healthcare domain expertise, including production process implementation, project requirement documentation, automation software requirement creation, health literature indexing and abstraction, and patient record summarization.
The training and certification will commence on March 17. 2014. There is an ongoing enrollment.
