Among Michael Andrew, Swingerhead and the many acts performing in March 3rd’s Fringe Festival Fund- raiser at the Hard Rock Orlando, there lies a curiously titled performance called “Professor Soap’s Music Machine.” An immersive multimedia performance featuring live musicians and the creative works of a popular underground animator who goes by the alias of “Professor Soap” will debut a portion of their 2014 Orlando Fringe Festival entry.

Hailing from NYC, Professor Soap proclaims on his Facebook page (facebook.com/professorsoap) to have a “doctorate in cool and runs his own private practice.” He has created some popular animated shorts which include “Spirit Quest Journey” and “Spacetime Fabric Softener,” both of which have been Vimeo.com Staff Picks. iO9’s Robert T. Gonzalez even proclaimed his short “Spacetime Facbric Softener,” to be “...the most beautiful thing you’ll watch today...Everything works here. The original score, the uncom- plicated color palette, the simple story telling.” Robert adds, “It’s almost therapeutic.”

That therapeutic, cerebral, smile-inducing feeling is what Professor Soap and the producers of “Professor Soap’s Music Machine” hope to accomplish when they translate his animated works live on stage. The show will ultimately be featured in this year’s Orlando Fringe Festival, and will preview a segment of the performance on March 3rd at the Hard Rock Orlando as part of Fringe Orlando’s annual fundraiser.
