KOLKATA, India -- According to the National Association of Corporate Directors, companies that have women on their boards generate value to their corporations by broadening market vision, enhancing board dynamics, inspiring female stockholders and improving corporate reputation. No matter which field you look at, a woman has surely paved her way to the top. More and more women are and want to set the stage for a wave of entrepreneurial ventures. All over the world women are shattering glass ceilings and proving that they have what it takes to be successful business leaders.
On 18th February, to celebrate World CSR Day 2014, Heritage Business School in association with Enterprise Development Institute (promoted by BNCCI) had organized a panel discussion on “Women in Metro, breaking the glass ceiling” in the auditorium of the Heritage Business School campus. The objective of the discussion is to create a platform where we have successful and experienced entrepreneurial women share their background, career path and life’s journey, to inspire and motivate others who wish to follow their path and more so to those who wish to carve their own path.
The programme was addressed by eminent elocutionist Ms. Bratati Bandhyopadhyay, eminent philanthropist Ms. Urmi Basu and Ace Fashion Designer, Ms. Agnimitra Paul. Chief Guest for the programme was Ms. Minu Budhia, Director and Founder, Add-life Caring Minds and the Guest-of-Honour for the same was Ms. Reshmi Chatterjee, Founder, Halo Heritage.
Ms. Bratati Bandhyopadhyay shared her inspiring journey on how she became an eminent elocutionist whereas Ms. Agnimitra Paul narrated her experience on how she chose fashion designing as a profession. On the other hand, Ms. Minu Budhia depicted her experience on creating a world-class organization ADD LIFE CARING MINDS which took lots of courage and innovation. Ms. Urmi Basu spoke about the essential qualities which women entrepreneurs should possess to be successful in the society.
Taking the risk and making hobby as profession were the main success mantras of these women personalities who were present in the panel discussion.
More than 200 participants attended the discussion listening to the inspiring talk of the women leaders.
The programme was also contributed by Dr. Aloke Kr. Sen, Director, Heritage Business School, Shri Samir Kumar Ghosh, Director, Enterprise Development Institute and Dr. Rimu Chaudhuri, Faculty, Heritage Business School and Coordinator of the whole programme.
