RICHMOND, Australia -- Local craft beer and great pub food are just two of the Cherry Tree Hotel's drawcards - served in the main bar, dining room, front al-fresco dining area, cafe or upstairs function room, the Balmain Street pub has become a local favourite under the guidance of current owner/operator Mark Whitehouse.

“We've been here five years and loved every minute of it” says Whitehouse.

The well known pub operator is planning to take over a Sydney hotel group comprising several hotels later this year.

“Although we love the Cherry Tree, it just doesn't fit into our next project – the day we hand over the keys will be a sad one for us, but we're hoping a new owner with a new vision will be great for the future of the pub”.

Selling agent Will Connolly of Connolly Hospitality commented “We've already seen a huge amount of enquiry on the Cherry Tree and it's only been on the market a few days – pubs in Richmond just don't come up all that often – so when they do, it can be pretty hectic for the agents”.
