CHORLTON-CUM-HARDY, U.K. -- CHRISTMAS came early for retired council worker Jacqueline Elkins when she won the 20th anniversary draw of Chorlton-based plus-size boutique Lady Bountiful.
Jacqueline, from Stretford, a regular customer of the size 18-32 designer store which launched in Manchester two decades ago, had no idea that the store’s founder Alice Jacob was planning a celebratory draw to thank customers for their support.
“Then I got a telephone call out of the blue to tell me that I had won £100 discount voucher for Lady Bountiful,” explained Jacqueline. “I was over the moon and immediately made arrangements to visit the boutique as quickly as I could.
“Once there I soon spotted a wonderfully stylish cardigan which was ideal for my winter wardrobe. I knew I would find something I wanted fairly quickly because I’ve discovered countless outfits from Lady Bountiful over the years.
“In fact the boutique kitted me out for three cruises that I went on a number for years ago.”
Alice Jacob, who founded the store in 1993 said:”I’m delighted Jacqueline was able to use her discount voucher so promptly. This store’s longevity is due largely to the support and loyalty of our valued customers and it was for that reason that I wanted to organise a celebratory anniversary draw.
“Unfortunately, we could only have one winner in our draw. However, our regular customers can share in our celebration by taking advantage of the many bargains in our Winter sale, which has just started.”
