Sissy gets ready for her own grudge match with Swedish figher Anthony Yigit LIVE Friday!

NEW YORK -- A successful amateur, Yigit impressed at the AIBA World Championships before travelling to London for the 2012 Olympics. At the Olympics, fighting at light-welterweight, Yigit defeated Francisco Vargas Ramirez in the first round before losing by a single point to eventual Silver medallist Denys Berinchyk in what many boxing experts described as the best fight of the competition.

‘’For many athletes, just to qualify for the Olympics is a lifelong dream,’’ said Yigit. ‘’When I qualified I knew that I had to show everyone that I was there to compete. I was disappointed to have lost such a close fight but the response for the fight was fantastic and it felt great to have left my mark in this way.’’

Yigit made his professional debut as part of the Nordic Fight Night in Frederikshavn, Denmark on April 13. Having dominated throughout the fight the referee called a halt to the action in the third-round with Abramenka unable to respond to the barrage of punches being thrown by Yigit. Two weeks later Yigit travelled to Hamburg to secure his second professional victory with a unanimous decision against Andrei Hramyka.

Yigit then travelled to London, defeating Dee Mitchell in front of 18,000 spectators at the O2 Arena. Which he followed with a points victory over Jan Balog at the Nordic Fight Night in Aarhus. Proving as effective a professional as he was as an amateur, Yigit secured his fifth victory against Andrei Staliarchuk at the Arena Nord in Frederikshavn. A tough fight against Tony Pace in Kolding resulted in a draw for Yigit despite many at ringside thinking the Swede had done enough to win the fight. Yigit bounced back from this minor disappointment to out-box and out-point Anton Bekish the following month.

Now Yigit will talk about his incredible journey with Sissy this Friday night on The Sissy Gamache Show LIVE 7:30pm EST on MNN Channel 56 TWC Manhattan and on our website www.thesissygamacheshow.com
