MIAMI -- The temperature in Miami rose to unseasonal, record highs this week and has everyone wondering how things got so heated all of the sudden! The Miami-Dade weather center has released their official temperature report and the numbers clearly speak for themselves. “We have been seeing huge streams of warm air coming up from the Caribbean in recent weeks. A major shift in the jet stream this year already caused us to have a much cooler than normal summer, and now we are experiencing a much warmer winter as a result as well,” said local meteorologist Rick Stevens.
The uncharacteristic climate has been setting off alarm bells in the weather center all week long. However, if you were outside anywhere around Miami in recent days, no one else seemed to be bothered by the unusual conditions. In fact, everyone it seems has been relishing in the abundantly warm weather for this December month.
“We got here two days ago for a mini pre-Christmas shopping trip. We certainly expected the weather to be nice, but this is just unbelievable! Where else can you go in December and its 85 degrees and no humidity outside?” said one very happy tourist.
Other excited visitors were also making the most of their southern Florida stay. Luxury car rentals skyrocketed over the weekend.
