Glimmer of The Past: English Short Stories Translated to German Crowdfunding Campaign

PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y. -- Stories from my collections The Past Present (UK, 2001), Back Burning (Australia, 2007), Mercury Blobs (Australia, 2013), translated into German by Eberhard Hain from Chemnitz.

Janette Turner Hospital said this about Back Burning: ”…Her characters are always on the move through complicated terrain, and the journey is richly rewarding for the reader.”

Pulitzer prize-winning author Rober Olen Butler said this about Mercury Blobs: ”…Mercury Blobs are sometimes very funny and sometimes very moving, and often they are both at once. ”

On Good Reads and Amazon about Mercury Blobs: ”If Sylvia Petter’s Mercury Blobs were a bottle of wine, I would be drunk!”

Comments: If I can get 100 pledged fans to buy the finished book within 2 months, it will appear in German.
Ebook 10.99 Euros/Paperback (not POD) 14.99. The translations were done by Eberhard Hain in Chemnitz, my very first colleague as a translator for the CSCE in Geneva (1973/74). The final manuscript will be fully edited by the publisher. This book is for Eberhard and all those friends and family who prefer reading in German, many from turbulent days when we tried really hard to keep our friendship alive despite politics on both sides of te Wall. It is also a tribute to that friendship. Please help me make this book a reality. For those who don´t read German, I´d be pleased to send you a signed copy of Back Burning as a thank you, postage paid.
