Doctor Who Fans produce fan film to celebrate the 50th anniversary

BEARSDEN, U.K. -- In the eve of the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who. Glasgow Fans of the television icon get together to produce a short 7 minute fan film to comemorate the big day of their favorite time traveller.

Acting as a prequel to the feature length fan film production Doctor Who : Besieged. This mini-sode now available on youtube sees The Doctor's Companion ''Ade" (played by Lovebite actress Natalie Clark) taking The Doctor (played by BAFTA nominated actor and filmmaker Ryan Hendrick) to Victorian London for a haircut. Innovertantly she takes him to the infamous Sweeney Todd of Fleet Street (played by award winning theatre actor Kenny Boyle).

The full length fan series was produced by filmmaker Ryan Hendrick as tribute to the show that inspired him to enter the world of film and television from the tender age of 7.

He said, "It was the spirit of adventure that comes with the character that got me - he's very heroic but also very intelligent. And, apart from regeneration, he has no superhuman qualities. He also has an appeal for boys who are different and I was definitely the different one at school.

"Doctor Who also has a long tradition of inspiring its fans, including Peter Capaldi, the new Doctor, who was a fan when he was growing up in Scotland. There are many people in the industry who were Doctor Who fans, and that was the creative force that drove them into it."

Both the 50th anniversary tribute and the full length series that also crosses with the H.R Giger Alien creatures and feature former Doctor Who Companion Hamish Wilson is available on youtube.
