Having purchased the original Kindle fire for myself, my grandson, and a student, I was naturally super excited about the new Kindle Fire HD so I had one sent to my daughter. She loved it of course! So did her 2 year old who promptly took it over preferring the kindle to the family I-pad. In an attempt to return the Kindle to its intended owner I sent my granddaughter a somewhat similar looking low-budget tablet. My grandaughter picked up the new unit, touched the screen, looked at some apps and promptly declared "This is not a Kindle!" I guess I'll soon be buying my fifth Kindle soon.

Update Kindle Fire HD Black Friday 2013
This is the first Tablet that I have bought or even tried to work. It is destined for a Christmas present for a 6 year old and I wanted to make sure that it was simple enough for him to maneuver and sophisticated enough for other activities. I have no yardstick to measure it by, but I liked it enough to buy the 8.9 for myself.
