The Jersey Express are looking forward to the start of a new season after a convincing win over Westchester Dutchmen in their final preseason game last Saturday, but will begin their season on November 16th. Against the North Shore Tides.
Former LA Laker Smush Parker (Brooklyn, N.Y) was added to the roster and played in the final pre-season game against the Dutchmen. He scored a team high of 27 points, 11 assists with 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 4 blocks in a 130-114 victory. Parker was 9-for-14 from the field.
The Jersey Express put forth an aggressive effort, racking up 26 fouls during the game. Donald Hennie (Englewood, NJ) who scored 20 points and Jason Smith (Paterson, NJ) who scored 15 points both had multiple three-pointers. Double digit points for the Jersey Express were also put up by Robert Whyte (Montvale, NJ) with 15 points, Terry Hill (Newark, NJ) with 12 points, Charles Smith (Newark, NJ) with 11 points, Travis Conyers (Jersey City, NJ) with 10 points, and finally Almin Hodzic (Budd Lake, NJ) with 10 points.
The regular season will get underway on Saturday, November 16th when the Jersey Express welcomes the North Shore Tides of Boston to Shabazz High School. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
