Afghans Unite To Celebrate Beloved Poet and Mystic Rumi

For the first time ever, hundreds of Afghan artists, singers, musicians, poets, writers, TV/Radio hosts, and high profile celebrities will come together to celebrate beloved poet, theologian and Sufi mystic Rumi. On November 29th & 30th, Afghans from around the world will join forces to promote UNITY and LOVE through the principles of humanism at the Rumi Awards, the first global Afghan TV & Radio Awards Show in Las Vegas.

This international effort is the brainchild of software engineer, entrepreneur, and author of Ten Thousand Prayers, A. Nasser. His vision aims to bring much needed unity to the world through the universal themes of Rumi's work, based on the principles of humanism, arts, literature, music and love. “While in a globalized world religious & cultural incompatibility have sparked inconvenience, spirituality is the common ground.”, says A. Nasser

With a momentus following of 110K, the Rumi Awards Facebook Page is bursting with announcements as the event draws near. The Afghan community will honor one of its legendary voices, Ustad Farida Mahwash at the November 30th event. A multitude of musicians, artists, poets, actors, journalists and political leaders will stand in solidarity, honoring the necessary call to action: unifying the human family.
